So talk to your surgeon about making sure to use the widest possible operational OZ. Because the cornea appears to be somewhat thin, however, there is a limit to the greatness of the cooperative OZ may be because the greater the operational area is more corneal tissue removed during the surgery. You can not really predict this for you, however, because I have the actual numbers in front of me. Therefore, I would recommend you to discuss this in detail with your surgeon. Yes, you are awake. You get a topical anasthaesia on the eye and something like Valium to sedate you. It doesn’t hurt at all though people have commented that it’s very disconcerting when you suddenly lose your vision for a bit during the surgery (they lift up your cornea and tinker with your retina and you temporarily lose your vision).
