This is by far the best manual I have seen on LASIK surgery. It is very concise and readable, but with a wealth of reference material applicable to the latest equipment and techniques. It is appropriate for both the beginning LASIK surgeon and the experienced practitioner. It is well illustrated, and has easy to use tables and nomograms on everything from ablation calculations to microkeratomes and IntraLase. It also includes some bonus material on other refractive procedures, such as nomograms for limbal relaxing incisions. The best part, though, are the case studies, of which there are MANY, covering everything from basic myopic LASIK, to handling of the most serious complications in refractive surgery. All of the cases are indexed and cross-referenced for topic and equipment used, which makes it easy to see how others have handled different situations when you have a patient with an issue. I am a practicing LASIK surgeon, and I thoroughly recommend this book.

the biggest thing is you could go blind but i don’t think you have to worry too much about that. the chance of that happening are very slim. i would think the other risk would be it wouldn’t work or in a few years your eyes go back to being bad.
