It depends on what type of effects you are talking about. After lasik there is sometimes blurriness and other effects that usually go away after a while. Just keep taking your meds and do as your doc says and go back for your 1 day check up and 1 month and 3 month and all the others. If you are talking about how long your eyes will be "fixed" then it usually lasts quite a while. Most of the time for many years. Sometimes after a while people will need to go back for enhancements after Lasik to adjust the correction because your vision can keep changing even after Lasik. So technically you can’t say its perminant but it’s usually pretty close.

can see much more clear after the lasik…but perfect vision after a week.
