Minimum Age Lasik Eye Surgery
LASIK question …….?
I have 17 years and will turn 18 in May. my brother was home the week before my birthday, and I really want LASIK before that date so you can fully enjoy the wedding. However, I do not want to wear glasses at the wedding. that's why I'm thinking of doing two months before, but still … I've heard of cases where undercorrect it and you can not get the touch up to 6 months later. Is it worth the risk? I've had glasses since I was eight years and I hate them, and my contacts dry eyes. My vision has been constant for about 2 1 / 2 years. I get LASIK March, two months before my birthday 18, with parental consent? Also, I read all about LASIK and its risks, but please give a firsthand account of my experience and the pros and cons of LASIK surgery. thanks! by the way my ophthalmologist said that the minimum age is 18, but I'm sure I can do it in an earlier age, with the consent parents. just want to know if I should. is only two months, after all.
wow. Congratulations to your brother. is really a big decision to cut the eyes or not. anything can happen in the operating room and you can lose sight. so in my opinion, I got the contacts. maybe you are not using the most appropriate for you. orthokeratology look at sleep in overnight contact and in the morning you take em and you can see it most days. and is reversible, while LASIK is not. a matter of weight. more if you need to get a touch up after the LASIK, it all depends on the amount of correction and if you still have enough tissue for him. good luck.

There is a separate surgery for the nearsightedness.
