Lifetime Lasik

How likely is that you need a "touch up" procedure after LASIK surgery?
Assuming that after a healing period after surgery found in the area of 20/20, in good health, and previously suffered from mild to moderate short sightness only? How often will you need retouching? Despite the relative newness of the technology true Lasik, I'm safe to assume 20 + years in the future Most do not need it? is paying the additional $ 1,000 over the life of retouching plan a waste of money if all goes reasonably well the first surgery? (The company is Lasik Plus in case you are curious) Thanks.
15% -20% A 1999 study published in the Jounral of Ophthalmology (1) found that in somewhere between 14.6% and 19.2% of eyes treated with LASIK requires editing (called a retreat.) This study was large – more than 2000 patients. These patients required treatment of both eyes for myopia – nearsightedness, and what was a few years ago, so things may have changed. I think this is probably a good estimate for you to work. We know that if you do not need to be finished within six months, it almost certainly does not need it after 11 years. (2) Do not know about periods longer than that. It terms of whether or not it's worth, the answer is that the company selling the plan editor makes money – lots of it. If not, would not provide the plan. Do not waste your money – if you need a touch up, do not cost much more than $ 1,000 anyway.

The price depends on what kind of lasik you need for your eyes. I had custom PRK on mine & it cost $1500.00 per eye. I had mine done in February 2007 & now I see 20/15. It is well worth the money. In the regular Lasik, they make a flap to perform the surgery, but with the PRK they scratch the cornea of the eye then do the lasik.
