Contacts and eye cases in the Midwest – Does anyone else have problems?
My wife and I moved from California to Indiana. We've been here for 1 year. Everything was fine for about eight months, until September, when my wife's eyes began to be bright red most of the time. Now you have ulcers in both. The doctor said that may not be able to wear contact lenses more. What the hell? That can not have something to do with the climate right? You can use them in California, but not in …? We now face the payment of Lasik. Anyone else in the Midwest have eye / contact problems?
In general, ulcers are not caused by weather or altitude changes. Most are caused by wear contacts. Sleeping in them when they should not sleep, use them too hours. No frequency pulling them or cleaning them often enough. Never heard of them coming due to climate change or regional causes. What the doctor who caused them? Usually they can tell when they see what type they are. Does the doctor will tell you that was a candidate for surgery LASIK? Sometimes it's not a good idea with long ulcerations. Sometimes it is the best solution. I really see the laser surgeon before jumping to any conclusions, however. In fact, none of us here can give you a real definite answer without seeing and knowing more about your situation.

It takes a few weeks. I had mine in June and sometimes if I’m really tired my vision is still kind of blurry. I would say it took 4-6 weeks though before I could see as well as I could with my glasses. You’ll be so glad you did it very soon!!
