Put it this way. You have only the two eyes you were born with and you will never grow any more. The chance that wearing glasses will cause permanent damage to your eyesight is virtually zero. Even contact lenses are less risky than surgery. Trust me, I’m a doctor.

There are individuals and organizations on the Internet, funded by LASIK surgeons, posing as "LASIK patient advocates", "LASIK experts", or LASIK education sites. Don’t be fooled by these LASIK marketing scams. Any organization that refers patients to LASIK surgeons, provides a list of LASIK surgeons, or receives money from the LASIK industry is not looking out for patients’ best interest. Information on LASIK surgeon referral sites is biased and unreliable.

You don’t really feel much during the operation. The most irritating part is when they apply the eye numbing drops. Of course you’re scared during that.

If the flap comes off, you’ll have to heal PRK-style. The tissue grows back VERY fast. The flap can be cut off and it’ll grow back in like 2-3 days.

There is PRK, no cutting involved. Also, there is epi-LASIK, no cutting and no flap.

You can move your eye. The laser has a tracker that locks on to your pupil. The laser pulses get put right where they belong.
