lasik in the Boston area?

I want to get lasik and live in the Boston area, but I have no idea how to research and find a good doctor. Can you suggest good doctors around boston, if not then can you tell me how I would go about reducing the list to only a couple of doctors I would go to a query. You know the risks and all that is involved … but I just cannot pick from the long list of doctors around here … Thanks a lot ps: I was thinking about Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, as they are large and specialized eyes, what do you think of that.

Unless it’s changed in the last year, PRK is the choice. There are some military facilities that can do LASIK, but unless your eyes require it you will get PRK. As for who and where the surgery gets done it depends a lot on location. Being around McChord and Fort Lewis the only place in the area that does it is Bremerton Naval Hospital, so that’s where you go. As for expense, it’s a permissive TDY with convalescent leave at the end. You’re responsible for the costs of travel, lodging, and food. No per diem.
