I used to work at a Lasik place. It is a very safe procedure and usually almost all of the patients have a great outcome. The outcome usually depends on the strength of your RX for your glasses. If you have a very high prescription, you might have to go back and have an enhancement (another surgery). Also you could have a higher risk of complications. This is usually only if you have a REALLY HIGH RX. It really is a life changing experience for the people that have had it done. I would say 99 percent of the people that I have seen in the office were very happy with their results. It is a very quick and non-invasive procedure and is almost painless because they give you numbing drops for your eyes. I say go for it!!!!!!! You will be glad you did. Just do some research about the place you choose and the physician, and ask them how many procedures they have done. The prices are very reasonable because of the competition. Lasik will work for a long time. The only thing is that as we age, our eyes change. Most of the time this happens in your 40's and 50's.....Lasik or not. You will most likely still need to have reading glasses at some point but will still have the distance vision. The place that you choose will explain this more in depth to you. Good luck.
