Becoming a pilot in the Air Force as a foreigner?
Hi I am looking to become an Air Force pilot with the Air Force U.S. and currently living in the UK. The reason I am looking to join the U.S. Air Force instead of the RAF is the fact that my eyes are not 20/20 and the RAF requires perfect vision, while the U.S. Air Force allows LASIK surgery. I was wondering what qualifications (UK equivalent) required, do I have to be a citizen or have a green card, and where do I sign up, I can go to college here in the UK? Basically I'm wondering if I was wanting to join the U.S. Air Force, from age 16 (after GCSE), what are all the steps that should be followed? Any help much appreciated
Pilots are citizens. also requires a degree of 4 years of aa U.S. accredited university. first step is the public .. do not have that, you're dead in the water. and what your eyes .. Preview your surgery must meet certain criteria. and reserving surgery on your own is usually a disqualifier.

No your not too old for it. The next question is whether or not your a good candidate for it and that can only be answered by your eye doctor. Everyone that I have ever known that has had it done really liked the results however I personally can’t justify spending that kind of money so I don’t have to wear glasses. Had them since the 2nd grade. I guess old habits die hard.
